Tradition, seriousness and passion for wine distinguish Humar Marino & C, a family-run business located in Valerisce, a hamlet of S. Floriano. Humar is a small winery that has 12 hectares of vineyards for quality production. With the collaboration of a talented father, Marino, the winery is run by his son Dario and wife Natasa, who with innovative spirit, courage and determination cultivate the family tradition. The vineyards stretch over the gentle marl hills of S. Floriano, between the Collio, the Julian Alps, the Isonzo and the Adriatic Sea, where the climate is the result of an encounter between mountain winds and fresh sea breezes. The grape grows exploiting the variety of microclimates and land suitable for the cultivation of numerous ancient native varieties, such as Ribolla, which is cultivated where the soil is poor in sandstone and marl, but also international vines. The estate is immersed in a natural and suggestive environment: the visual impact embraces the Friulian and Slovenian Collio. Dario Humar belongs to a family that has worked on these vines since the nineteenth century, and is therefore the owner of a historic winery that is reinvented.
